What is Neuro Connect?
This social communication group helps young adults 18-30 years of age who are interested in learning skills to make and keep friends.
Our speech pathologists deliver therapy in small groups to help foster confidence in each participant to help build their social communication skills in a supportive environment.
Groups will be led by one of our experienced speech pathologists and implemented over a 10-week block, in 1 hour sessions.
What does the Neuro Connect groups involve?
Our speech pathologists’ main aim in the Neuro Connect group is to improve socialcommunication skills in a safe and supportive environment.
This is achieved through:
- Helping each individual to develop better social skills
- Helping each individual to use strategies to help maintain social skills
- Helping to improve communicative behaviour as well as general behaviour across social settings through learning and recognising appropriate and inappropriate communication in different settings.
Sessions are subject to availability. Sessions will run weekly at the Neuro Alliance clinic, 1 Poynton Place, Thornton.
