What is MS: Get a head start?
MS: Get a Head Start is a 6-week long, evidence-based, therapist-led group intervention that aims to change the lives of those living with Multiple Sclerosis. MS: Get a Head Start aims to assist those living with MS to improve their health, physical function and quality of life, and build self-management skills. It provides opportunities for people with MS to participate in a support network, in a community of similar individuals.
What does MS: Get a head start involve?
1:1 pre-assessment with an Exercise Physiologist to assess current function and set goals for the program. Two group exercise sessions per week, for 6 weeks. 1:1 post-assessment with an Exercise Physiologist to review the effect of the program and plan the next steps.
Sessions run for one hour, at 10:00am, Tuesdays and Thursdays.
The group classes involve gym-based interval training. Educational topics will be also covered each week.
