Frequently Asked Questions

Paediatric Rehabilitation is a specialised branch of healthcare that focuses on improving the physical, cognitive, and functional abilities of children with developmental challenges, disabilities, or injuries. It includes services such as physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and speech pathology to enhance overall well-being.

If your child experiences delays in developmental milestones, difficulties with movement, coordination, or has been diagnosed with a physical disability, they may benefit from Paediatric Rehabilitation at Neuro Alliance Paediatrics.

Physiotherapy focuses on improving a child’s physical abilities and mobility. Therapists work on strength, coordination, and movement to help children with physical disabilities achieve their maximum potential for functional independence.

Occupational Therapy addresses a child’s ability to perform daily activities independently. This includes self-care tasks, play, school activities, and social interactions. Occupational Therapists work on fine motor skills, sensory processing, and adaptive techniques to enhance overall function. Our Occupational therapists are also involved in the prescription of wheelchairs and various other adaptive pieces of equipment.

Absolutely. We believe in a collaborative approach to care. Parents and caregivers are integral to the rehabilitation journey. Our therapists provide education, training, and ongoing support to ensure a seamless integration of therapy strategies and equipment use at home.

The duration of a session varies based on the child’s needs and the specific therapies involved. Our team will provide a personalised schedule and discuss the expected duration of sessions during the initial evaluation.

Many insurance plans cover our services. Neuro Alliance sees clients who are supported by the NDIS, private health insurance, EPC (medicare) or privately funded. Our administrative team can assist you to navigate funding options and insurance bodies.

Referrals can be made via our website over the phone with our administration staff. Neuro Alliance is a specialised service catering for complex neurological and physical disabilities. Our team will work with you to assess your child’s needs and appropriateness for our service. Following your child’s case review and subsequent acceptance of your child to our service they will be allocated to a therapist in our team who will then discuss goals and create a personalised plan to support their journey towards improved independence and well-being.

During the first session, our therapists will conduct a comprehensive assessment, discuss your child’s medical history, and establish goals for therapy. It’s also an opportunity for you to ask questions and share any concerns you may have.
